Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports on March 10, 2016 at 8:35 p.m., his deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Crowfoot Grocery Store located at 115 Central Avenue in Lebanon.
The investigation revealed Richard Lee Taylor, 51, of Lebanon, was parked at the store with a female passenger. While at the store, Taylor was confronted by Michael John Hoffman, 43, of Harrisburg. After assaulting Taylor, Hoffman retreated to his own vehicle in attempts to leave. Taylor, armed with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, fired at least three shots in the direction of Hoffman’s vehicle. No one was hit or injured from the gunfire.
Taylor told deputies he was only shooting at the tires of Hoffman’s vehicle and was not trying to hurt him. Taylor and Hoffman are acquaintances.
Taylor was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Hoffman was arrested for Criminal Mischief II, Assault IV, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Both Taylor and Hoffman were transported to the Linn County Jail where they were lodged.
