Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports on Tuesday, December 1, at 10:04 p.m., Linn County dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from a residence on Old Mill Road outside Lebanon. When dispatch called the number back, a male answered the phone and a person could be heard in the background yelling for help.
Deputies responded to the location and contacted Kris Fiala, 54, who had a knife in his hand. Deputies detained Kris, who spit blood in a deputy’s face. Deputies found Kris Fiala’s mother, Gladys Fiala, 85, deceased. Kris Fiala was transported to the Linn County Jail and charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Aggravated Harassment.
