We welcome applicants for the Linn County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Search and Rescue (SAR) Post. Please be sure you meet the following eligibility requirements before submitting our online application:
The minimum age requires you to be at least 14 years old by the SAR Academy graduation and starting the 9th grade in September.
You must have no criminal charges pending or convictions on your record.
Your GPA must be at least 2.5, and you must never have been expelled from school. The SAR Post Selection Committee will review any school suspensions and the Committee’s determination will be final.
As part of your initial application you will be interviewed by the Post Selection Committee, submit to a background investigation, and pass a physical aptitude test. The results will determine your acceptance into the Search and Rescue Post.
